SKETCHBOOK
Monsoon began her journey through illustration when studying for her bachelor's at the University of Westminster (2009-2013). This journey consisted of learning how to draw correctly which was self-taught during the summer of 2010. Monsoon worked hard to enhance her surreal style by doing automatic drawing exercises to improve her skills and create bizarre drawings inspired by botanical cells under a microscope.
Monsoon began her interest in the cross-pollination of Art & Science in 2010 during the Art & Science programme 'Broad Vision' and adopted Robert Hooke's method of drawing using a microscope.
Illustration is an integral part of Monsoon's practice and is the root of all her projects. Below are drawings from Monsoon's sketchbook from 2010 to the present day. Monsoon is in the process of digitising her drawings and revamping illustration projects.
